Projects Progressing On Site

June 26, 2017

Its exciting to see projects emerging on site. Work has been progressing really well on this full width extension to a 1930's semi-detached home in Chorlton, Manchester. The new spaces will provide open plan family living spaces containing a new kitchen and dining room. A study work space connects to the kitchen with a private entrance from outside, and big doors opening out onto a patio terrace that will be level with the interior. Big rooflights will add natural light and ventilation to the back of the house. The projecting canopy structure cantilevers dramatically from the new structure providing solar shading and some shelter. Nicknamed 'the propeller' by the contractors on site it gently twists along its length due to the angled plan of the study space. It will be timber clad in pre-weathered larch which will complement and contrast with the existing brickwork.
