Bath University Yr 4 Reviews : Dorchester!

March 24, 2017

I had a great day yesterday at Bath University as a visiting reviewer for their graduate year architecture students - thanks to Martin Gledhill for inviting me!

As a 'son of Dorchester' it was fascinating to see what proposals they were making for my home town! Some brilliantly made models and great ideas were emerging for a rich variety of exciting projects and typologies. I particularly enjoyed the proposal for a centre for Stone masonry for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, 'SPAB', a fantastic contemporary market (on the historic market site), and a lovely school with a focus on discreet courtyards and a new classroom typology. Thanks to all the students and to Vanessa for being a great host critic!

Really looking forward to going back on the 7th of April to see how they progress.

Lovely wooden model of a proposed 1FE School
