Weymouth Rowing Club Boatshed Submitted for Planning!

We've been busy working on a variety of community projects recently, and this one for the last few years! Weymouth Rowing Club have been working tirelessly to try to develop a new purpose built Boatshed and Club House on their existing site on the Harbourside. The project has been designed as a modular steel frame with timber cladding panels. The windows refer to Nautical Flags and the lozenge shaped openings familiar to this marine environment. A tower anchors the building to the site and creates a new landmark at the entrance of the harbour. The site is within a marine conservation area and SSSi, as well as the Weymouth Harbour Conservation area.

Over the Easter Weekend of 2016 the club held an amazing public consultation event with some 400 respondents, the vast majority of whom were as excited as we are about the proposals. The project aims to provide a fantastic new flexible facility for a range of harbour users, in a socially inclusive, accessible new building.
