Astry Close Community Led Housing Consultation

December 5, 2018

Last night we had a really fun evening talking through proposals for 36 new homes for Ambition Lawrence Weston and United Communities Housing Association with support from Bristol City Council, Bristol Community Land Trust, Bright Green Futures (Martin Schofield). We built a partial model of the site showing the different house types and how the levels of the steeply sloping site will work. Along with Landscape Architects LT Studio from Bath, we gathered feedback on local residents’ preferences for the external spaces - gardens, shared spaces, and open areas. Engineers Campbell Reith have been providing support for the project in a variety of ways to deal with the site’s drainage, levels and civil engineering challenges!

We will be developing the designs using the feedback we received and taking the ideas back to them for further input in the New Year! The project features a variety of 1, 2 and 3 bed homes in a range of house and flat types to suit a variety of people, as well as two self-buid plots for anyone looking to make their own design a reality! A planning application is due to be submitted at the end of February 2019.
