Brizzle Bike Shed

As keen commuting cyclists and in support of Bristol Green Capital 2015 we have been working on designs to improve the cycling in the city - by starting at Temple Meads Station. If visitors could arrive at the station and hire a solar charged Brizzl-e  electric bike (to help with ours hills) rather than jump in a taxi wouldn't it be so much better?! For residents and commuters, this proposal aims to provide significantly better additional bike parking in lit, covered, secure sheds.

The form for the 'Bike Shed' is based upon a piece of Brunel's station platform. To this end, it is built of a strand of the DNA of the city's famous Listed Station building, and could be fabricated from sustainable materials appropriate for the 21st Century.

One possibility is to mount Photovoltaic, Solar Panels on the roofs to charge electric bikes and power lights to the shelters respectively. We are seeking partners to develop and support the project further over the coming year and hope that this pop-up intervention could become a permanent fixture for the city.
